Travel in the Fourth Season rarely looks like the holidays of earlier years. There is more time and fewer fixed dates, and a different question underneath it all: not what can I fit in, but what do I actually want to see?
A different kind of journey
The trips that seem to matter most to members are the unhurried ones. A month in one place rather than a week in five. A train rather than a flight. A walk that takes all day because there is no reason for it to take less.
Without the constraints of school terms and annual leave, travel can finally be shaped around curiosity rather than the calendar.
Travelling alone, and travelling with others
Some of the richest journeys in this season are taken alone, and some are the better for company. Both are welcome here.
If you would rather not travel by yourself, members often pair up or travel in small groups, and there is no shortage of people happy to meet somewhere in the middle.
Not only long-haul
Not every journey needs an airport. A county you have never properly explored, a coastline two hours away, a city you have passed through a hundred times without ever stopping.
The best place to begin is usually somewhere you have been meaning to go for years.
